O Gabinete da Mediadora Linguística e Cultural tem como principal missão facilitar a integração dos estudantes de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM) na comunidade escolar e apoiar as suas famílias, promovendo a comunicação, a compreensão mútua e o diálogo intercultural.
The Linguistic and Cultural Mediation Office aims to support the integration of students of Portuguese as a Non-Native Language (PLNM) within the school community and assist their families, fostering communication, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue.

A diversidade cultural e linguística presente na comunidade educativa é entendida como uma oportunidade de enriquecimento mútuo e de desenvolvimento social, educativo e humano, reforçando o papel da escola como espaço de integração, diálogo e coesão social.
Cultural and linguistic diversity within the school community is seen as an opportunity for mutual enrichment and for social, educational and human development, strengthening the school’s role as a space for integration, dialogue and social cohesion.

A mediadora é uma profissional que trabalha ao lado dos professores, colaborando com diretores de turma, psicólogas, técnicos e famílias, e contribuindo para derrubar barreiras linguísticas e culturais.
The mediator is a professional working alongside teachers, in collaboration with class directors, psychologists, school staff and families, helping to break down linguistic and cultural barriers.

As suas principais funções são:

Facilitar a comunicação entre alunos, professores e famílias;
Apoiar alunos migrantes nas suas necessidades linguísticas e sociais;
Promover atividades culturais e educativas que valorizem a diversidade;
Colaborar com o SPO, EMAEI e outros serviços da escola;
Contribuir para o sucesso escolar e o bem-estar emocional dos alunos.

Her main functions are to:

Facilitate communication among students, teachers and families;
Support migrant students in their linguistic and social needs;
Promote cultural and educational activities that celebrate diversity;
Collaborate with the Psychology and Counselling Service (SPO), the Inclusive Education Support Team (EMAEI) and other school departments;
Contribute to students’ academic success and emotional well-being.
